Refrigerant liquid

Aqua Systems Installation Instructions
...Installation Instructions The Aqua Systems heat exchanger is suitable for use as a condenser or evaporator. Refrigerant gas should be piped to the top refrigerant opening and refrigerant liquid to the bottom refrigerant opening. The Aqua Systems Heat Exchanger can be piped for series water flow or parallel water flow. Series flow is normally... See #1.

The refrigerant cycle
...goes through the expansion valve, which reduces the pressure, and thus temperature goes below the temperature of the refrigerated space. This results in cold, low pressure refrigerant liquid.  4 The low pressure refrigerant flows to the evaporator where it absorbs heat from the indoor air throught evaporation and becomes low pressure gas. See #2.

Standard Refrigeration
...The ER series is a near drop-in replacement for the once popular Dunham Bush CH chiller barrel series. The ERS and ERD are the single and dual circuited models, having the refrigerant liquid and suction connection on opposite ends, and with shell side water connection locations and dimensions designed to match up to the Dunham Bush models.
