The HGBP is a control that comes into play during low evaporator load conditions. This valve will perform two functions, the primary being capacity control. As the load on the evaporator coil drops, the suction pressure will fall. When the set-point of the valve is reached, it will begin to feed hot gas directly from the compressor into the evaporator coil. See #3.
