The wide variety of finishes you can apply shows off your craftsmanship and commands a premium for your extra effort. For color uniformity, remember: Bull float after striking off the slab. Skip jitterbugging (tamping), unless slump is 1 inch or less. For most finishes, use wood bull floats and darbies, not magnesium. See #5.
