3Dconnexion 3D mice now supported by TurboCAD family

CAD designers working in TurboCAD and TurboSketch to benefit from increased 3D design control with 3Dconnexion’s awarding winning line of 3D mice.

Jan 25, 2008

3Dconnexion, a Logitech company, today announced that its award-winning line of 3D mice is now supported by IMSI/Design’s TurboCAD Deluxe 14, the powerful full-featured CAD and drafting program, TurboCAD Pro 14, a complete 3D solid modelling design solution, and TurboSketch Studio, an innovative plug-in powered by LightWorks for creating photorealistic models using Google SketchUp.

3Dconnexion’s range of 3D mice gives CAD designers working in TurboCAD and TurboSketch Studio more control when creating presentation-ready plans, technical drawings, mechanical designs, artistic illustrations, creative projects and more. Unlike mice confined to motion on two flat planes, 3Dconnexion’s 3D mice allow effortless movement and control within the 3D workspace. By simply moving the controller cap, CAD designers can simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate without stopping to select commands. A subtle increase or decrease in pressure accelerates or slows motion, enabling precise micro-adjustments.

“With support for 3Dconnexion's line of 3D mice, we are enabling our customers to enjoy an even better design experience within TurboCAD,” says Robert Mayer, co-founder and chief operating officer of IMSI/Design. “We strive to make CAD applications that reach not only mechanical and architectural designers, but also the home user. 3Dconnexion’s line of 3D mice falls right in line with that goal.”

Ziva Nissan, 3Dconnexion’s director of product marketing, adds: “IMSI/Design’s support marks 3Dconnexion’s entry into the retail CAD market and enables TurboCAD and TurboSketch Studio users to benefit from the enhanced 3D mouse workflow employed by professional CAD designers today.”

3Dconnexion provides advanced and affordable 3D mice that are supported by more than 120 of today’s most popular 3D applications including Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, Cinema 4D, form-Z and all of the top-tier 3D CAD applications.
